Junior Players Presents: Phantom of the Opera

Great Neck North Junior Players presents “The Phantom of the Opera,” a renowned musical based off of the 1910 horror novel. Although there have been countless renditions of this literary piece, the Junior Players were still able to astound and impress their audience at the Thursday night show. There were many fascinating facets to the performance, the most noticeable one being the passionate voices of the talented cast. Furthermore, this expensive production paid off in that the sets and costumes were very polished and professional; the audience members were swept away as the leads floated through a blanket of dry ice vapor in an intricate handmade boat; a chandelier made with paper hovered above the stage, eventually crashing down as the phantom’s revenge. The efforts of the lighting and stage crew amplified the mood of the performance, whether it was during chaos and terror, or whim and romance. Finally, the actors’ endless joy and love for the theater brought together all pieces of the play and turned The Phantom of the Opera into their play.
