This is the water fountain found closest to the Community School room at North High. The water pressure is a solid six out of 10, with the water stream being very easily accessible. One might believe that all water tastes the same, but true water enjoyers are keen to believe otherwise. The water at this fountain was already cold; thus, it was delightful to taste, giving it a seven out of 10 rating in that department. The location is not ideal, given that the fountain is in the basement. It is not close to many classrooms, earning a five out of 10 rating. “It remains one of my favorite water fountains,” sophomore Sam Goldman said.

This drinking spot is located not far from the B.K. Arena. The water pressure at this fountain is extremely high, given its proximity to the water pipe system at the school. “It’s one of the best water fountains,” junior Sienna Yamins said. The taste was immediately cold, but combining with the water pressure itself, gave the taste a solid eight out of 10. The location, while similar to the previous fountain, is in the basement giving it a five out of 10.

This is the water fountain closest to the front entrance, out of any other. This enhances its location score to a whopping eight out of 10. Aside from location, this fountain is average. The overall water pressure and taste are at a very mediocre level. Therefore, this earns the fountain a five out of 10 in both categories.

Located by the English wing, it is also incredibly close to the main entrance, earning it a seven out of 10 in that department. However, the sad truth of this water fountain is that it is typically out of order. This is the case at the time of writing, giving it no ability to refute the zeroes in taste and frequency.

This is the water fountain by the math office. This location is sub-optimal, being near the back of the school, making it not a typically used fountain, earning a four. The water pressure is pretty good—a seven out of 10—causing a more positive taste. A six out of 10 for taste rounds out this water fountain.

Fountain Number Six is located not far from the language office. The frequency is excellent for this fountain, giving it a seven in taste and aforementioned frequency. The location is not ideal, however. It is located on the second floor, away from most classrooms, giving it a five in location.

This fountain is in the social studies hallway and is always surrounded by students. It has a pressure of six, a taste of six, and a six in temperature. Therefore, it would be more than fair to consider this foundation “mid.” “I honestly don’t use this water fountain that much because it is always so crowded in the hallways,” freshman Noah Nerayoff said. Ultimately, there are worse fountains, but there are also better.

Rounding out the list is arguably one of the worst fountains here. The water pressure is abysmal, and two out of 10 does not do justice to the sheer disgust this fountain elicits. A five in taste is a feeble attempt at making up for the unimaginable horror that is the water pressure. The location is by a lot of classrooms, which gives it a five in that department. “That water fountain is just the worst,” junior Chris Wu said.

The final fountain. It holds a slightly better water pressure than the horrid previous fountain, at a more respectable four out of 10. The taste is above average at a six, but the location is the main asset of this fountain. After a hard day in Physical Education, this fountain, with its proximity to the gymnasium, relieves those gritty pickleball players and basketball enjoyers. This fountain worked hard to earn an eight in location.
Water fountains are a cornerstone of our school; without them, it is hard to believe we could function as students. They help us in our time of need. Knowing which water fountain is the best is always important, and this list is essential to that crucial factor.
