Meet Mrs. Healy, the honorable, happy, and hardworking educator. With a personality that’s a perfect blend of humor, kindness, loyalty, and just a touch of territorial flair, she brings warmth and enthusiasm to every classroom she enters.
Hailing from the halls of Molloy College, where she earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees with honors, Mrs. Healy’s academic journey was marked by her keen interest in knowledge and her genuine love for the school atmosphere. When asked to describe her high school experience, she simply responded with “fine.” Despite the simplicity in her tone, she secretly relished the teeming environment of her school, complete with a vibrant athletics program and a spirited marching band. A lifelong scholar, Mrs. Healy’s passion for teaching was sparked at a young age, nurtured by her early experiences in preschool and the unwavering dedication of her own inspirational teachers.
“During an activity in preschool, I found love in being a teacher,” said Mrs. Healy. “It pulled me in and I just knew it was what I wanted to do.”
It was during her formative years that she made the decision to embark on the path of education, ultimately choosing to specialize in Spanish teaching around her junior year of high school. Despite her Irish and Italian heritage, Mrs. Healy embraced the Spanish language with gusto, starting her journey in 8th grade and never looking back.
While she may be a devoted teacher by day, she spends her leisure time reading, with a thirst for romantic comedies, as evidenced by her recent achievement of completing 129 books of the same genre!
In Mrs. Healy’s classroom, the best moments aren’t just confined to lesson plans and exams—they’re the heartwarming connections she forms with her students.
“One of the best student-teaching moments is the continuing and ongoing bonds,” said Mrs. Healy.
From receiving letters from her demo lesson’s students, to maintaining lifelong bonds with former students who became like family, her impact extends far beyond the classroom walls. When she’s not busy molding young minds, Mrs. Healy can be found whipping up culinary delights from around the world, diving into a good book at the beach, or cherishing precious moments with her three adorable children.
With her eldest son, daughter, and youngest son, who’s almost two, Mrs. Healy’s home is a hub of laughter, love, and endless inspiration—a true reflection of the remarkable teacher and mother she is.
