After an almost undefeated season with one loss, win after win, the varsity team played against Belmont JFK for the playoffs. Although they got defeated, junior Gabby Feder scored one goal for the team. Every team player, whether on the field or the sidelines, had a significant role as the team worked together. Freshman Jaden Maze accomplished all-county, a considerable accomplishment, and senior Danit Kashi achieved all-conference.

“Between Conolly’s motivation, the skill, and the family we created within the team, we couldn’t have wished for a better season,” said senior captain Danit Kashi. For the nine seniors on this team, this win is memorable to have become involved with playoffs and definitely feels like a strong accomplishment,” senior Danit Kashi expressed.

Sophomore Aava Glickman stated, “I had an amazing season and loved every second. I formed great friendships with my teammates. I could not have done it without my team and coach.”

The varsity soccer team could not have made it to playoffs without their fantastic coach, coach Connolly. Coach Connolly was extremely proud of his team as well. “I called the girls Connolly’s crazies because they were an amazing bunch of free-spirited wild girls. They practiced hard and played hard, and their mental tenacity was untouchable. One of the main reasons we were so successful (11-1), I believe, was because these girls had a ‘I dare someone to be better than me today’ attitude. I loved that about them and tried to nurture that every day. The team chemistry was amazing, and that combined with their athletic strength set the stage for an amazing year,” coach Conolly said.

The dedication and exceptional hard work has paid off for the girls of the Great Neck North’s varsity soccer team. The team is excited and thrilled about next year’s season!
