With Winter 2022 approaching, you don’t need to discard being comfy and cozy to look stylish. Thankfully, so many Winter fashion trends allow you to dress fashionably while maintaining comfort and warmth during the incoming cold weather. Some winter 2022-2023 fashion trends starting to emerge include mini Ugg boots, wide-leg sweatpants, leg warmers, sweaters, and cargo pants! 

Irritatingly, Winter will make your whole body feel chilly and uncomfortable, especially your feet. Although fuzzy socks are an amazing essential to keep your feet warm during the season, many may claim that it is not appropriate to leave the house with them. So, mini Ugg boots serve as a really cute and trendy alternative to fuzzy socks that are more suitable to leave the house with, and bring warmth. A

s typical Ugg boots diminish from the spotlight, mini Ugg boots take their place, acting as a trendier alternative. Many students embark on this trend, such as sophomore Daniela Souferian.”I live in my mini Ugg boots, I love them so much they are so comfortable,” Souferian claims. 

Furthermore, a trend that has been embodied by many attending North High School is wide leg cozy sweatpants. Wide leg sweatpants are effortlessly cute, in style, and appropriate for school when you just want to be comfy! Brandy Melville sells wide leg sweatpants in many colors that are not too pricey! If you’re looking for higher quality wide leg sweatpants and are willing to spend more money on them, Aritzia is a great place to look.

Another trend that is not worn by everyone, but is still a cute winter trend is leg warmers! Leg warmers are beginning to make an appearance again in the fashion world, especially on tik tok, and some people reflect their styles based off of the various styles presented by influencers on tik tok. As the low temperatures of winter approach us, leg warmers are perfect for preserving feet from these low and uncomfortable temperatures. 

Polo sweaters have made their comeback last year, but are redeeming themselves this winter once again through the many people who own them! Although Polo sweaters are expensive, they are really good quality and come in many different styles such as v-neck, crew neck, turtle neck, and more. Polo sweaters are perfect winter essentials because they could be worn both formally and informally, depending on how they are styled. Sophomore Maya Salim says, “I own two polo sweaters, and I am OBSESSED with them! I love how I can either wear them more casual or fancy.”

     Lastly, Cargo pants are trending right now because they provide comfort, specifically a more comfortable alternative to jeans. These pocketed pants are also super easy to style, flattering yet casual, and more loose and easy to wear compared to the typical tight jeans, leggings and more.

Many attending North High are influenced by this trend through various models who embark it, such as Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner because cargo pants tap into this model-off-duty type of look. Although they are labeled in this article as a winter trend, cargo pants can be worn throughout all the seasons, depending on how they are styled. 

“Cargo pants are my favorite because they are not uncomfortable at all and are really easy to style,” Sophomore Abby Ijadi says.
