Junior Players Presents: Coming to Terms

Junior Players presents Thespian Troupe 201 One Acts: Coming to Terms on Jan. 11, 12, and 13 at 7:30 p.m. Coming to Terms centers around the theme of personal development as an adolescent. There will be four skits as follows:

Almost, Maine by John Cariani

“Almost, Maine is a show that I decided to put on because it replaces the usual drama used to make the audience care for the characters with something far more potent — awkwardness. We can all relate to moments like the ones depicted in the play to some extent, and that makes them so much more real.”

-Director Berk Soykan

Perfect Score by Katie Henry

“Perfect Score is the story of four seniors as they go through their senior year and the complications that arise with it.”

“Thespian show has always been where I found my footing in life, where I found friends and where I found humor in dull winters. To me it was the show where I was most myself and had the best time.”

-Director Amanda Sanders

Removing the Glove by Clarence Coo

“The play, ‘Removing The Glove’ by Clarence Coo, revolves around the story of a teenager named Will who cautiously, courageously, and most of all, comedically reveals his true self to the world. Will faces opposition from his friends, family, and the rest of his community but finds comfort and encouragement in an overly enthusiastic support group.”

-Director Kyra Friedland

Jimmy the Antichrist by Keith J. Powell

“Jimmy the Antichrist is a metaphor for coming out…The main character, Jimmy, comes back from college for Thanksgiving and he comes home with a “friend” who clearly seems to be his gay boyfriend…[Ultimately,] Jimmy’s family realizes that despite Jimmy’s unexpected development, he is still their son and they love him.”
