This year, Tie Dye Day was an incredibly successful moment for North High. Preparation started even before the official day. The Student Organization at North High was able to run an incredible ‘Tie Dye and Say Hi’ event in which students were encouraged to come to the front lawn and tie-dye free white T-shirts. It was an incredible event that seemed to bring the entire student body together.
“It was really nice to see everyone,” said senior Sienna Yamins.

Another incredible aspect of the Tie Dye Day was the special points incentive. Those who wore tie-dye colors were to receive special points for their class for the inevitable Battle of the Classes in the Spring of 2026. This incentive brought classes together to try to score much more than their age group rivals.
“I think it’s a really cool and fun concept which definitely makes people more motivated to be a part of Spirit Week,” said junior Momchil Yanchev.
However, students have asked if Tie Dye Day was the best out of all the other incredible Spirit Week Days.
“I personally preferred Twin Day,” said senior Chris Wu. Others looked forward to the Pep Rally, with an astonishing array of activities and newly included pom-poms; students definitely enjoyed the hour of cheering for their student-athlete peers.

Ultimately, the usage of battle points, combined with the fun and interactive activities on the front lawn, brought a whole new dimension to the colorful experience.
All students and faculty were seen in vibrant combinations representing a sense of togetherness and camaraderie that Great Neck North High School is so well known for. A sentiment that is crucial for the beginning of the school year, where acclimation is necessary.
It can be clearly stated that Spirit Week, and especially the fan-favorite Tie Dye Day, were a rousing success.
“I really enjoyed this Spirit Week, I’m looking forward to the next one already,” said junior Jay Wu.
