The San Francisco 49ers vs The Seattle Seahawks
In a Week 18 Divisional Rematch, the fifth-seeded 49ers take on the number-one-seeded Seattle Seahawks. This game will be decided by how the 49ers use Christian McCaffrey against a dominant Seahawks defense.
In prior outings, Seattle’s defense held a red-hot 9ers offense to only 3 points. If CMC gets going early, he may be too much for the Seahawks to handle. On the other hand, Sam Darnold has proved himself as a reliable playoff quarterback in recent years. With Jaxon Smith-Nijgba and Cooper Cupp both playing at high levels this year, an injured 9ers defense without Nick Bosa or Fred Warner will certainly struggle against a high-flying Seattle Offense.
Predicting this game will be challenging, as the 9ers just completed an upset win against the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, whilst Seattle has proved all season that their squad is not to be underestimated. I’m anticipating a mid-scoring game, with a 24-16 49ers win.

“The 49ers have been playing really well lately, and I hope they can make it all the way to the Super Bowl,” junior Elissa Becker said.
The Buffalo Bills vs the Denver Broncos
A rematch of last season’s Wild Card, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills storm into Denver seeking to continue their hunt for Superbowl Glory. With a climactic victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars away from home, the Bills aim for successive road victories against the Broncos in this match.
A win here for Buffalo doesn’t appear as easy as it seems. The Broncos, through grit, grind, and luck, have cemented their place as a top AFC team. Reigning Defensive Player of the Year Patrick Surtain II has continued his form into this term, solidifying Denver as the number two best defense in the league. Sophomore quarterback Bo Nix has maintained relatively similar numbers to his incredible rookie season, which saw the Broncos unexpectedly make the playoffs.
Ultimately, despite Nix’s consistency throughout the season, the gap between the two opposing quarterbacks is just too large to favor the Broncos in this one. Josh Allen is the reigning MVP, and as a player who now feels that this year (without Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs), he really has a chance to win it all.
Furthermore, the Bills have the league’s number one passing defense this year. With Denver relying heavily on the forward pass, my prediction is a close game, but an ultimate Buffalo victory. The final score prediction is 18-16 in favor of the Bills.

“I’m going to be rooting for Buffalo; they can definitely win this round,” junior Tori Sobiecki said.
The Los Angeles Rams vs. the Chicago Bears
Chicago vs LA is arguably one of the most unpredictable playoff matchups. On one hand, the Los Angeles Rams can be seen as Super Bowl favorites. Matthew Stafford is likely going to be the MVP, and Puka Nacua has had one of his greatest-ever seasons.
On the flip side, the Chicago Bears have been on a tear in recent weeks. The emergence of rookie sensation Luther Burden III alongside Ben Johnson’s overall revolution of Chicago’s offense has the Bears playing incredible football. Both teams have just come off of close games against solid teams in the face of the Panthers and the Packers, respectively.
However, LA seemed much shakier against Carolina than expected. Analysts projected a much larger margin of victory for the Rams, but they squeaked by 34-31. Despite the Rams’ star-studded squad, including the likes of Kyren Williams, Davante Adams, and Jared Verse, I think that Chicago could certainly pull off an upset. Caleb Williams has shown time and time again that he can deliver in clutch moments.
I’m predicting an upset victory for the Bears in a 30-24 win for Chicago.

“If the Bears won this game, it would be one of the biggest upsets we’ve seen in the playoffs so far,” junior Momchil Yanchev said.
The New England Patriots vs The Houston Texans
New England against Houston is the ultimate showdown of top-tier offense against elite defense. The Patriots, spearheaded by sophomore and MVP candidate Drake Maye, have the number-three-ranked offense in the league this season. Maye’s 31 touchdowns have been a revitalization for New England this past season, propelling them into their first playoff win in seven years.
In contrast, Houston has planted itself as a consistent AFC playoff team in the past three seasons. Whilst the team has struggled offensively for long stretches, the defensive side of the ball is where the Texans dominate. Their statement victory against the Steelers only added further evidence that their number one defense this season is nothing to sneer at.
It will ultimately be up to Drake Maye to see if he can make those critical throws and those game-deciding plays in this game. In my view, I don’t see the former UNC quarterback succeeding in this matchup.
Houston’s defense will be suffocating for the New England offense, and I see them pulling off a 16-14 win.

Overall, this year’s NFL playoffs have featured more new teams and players than in recent memory. Who will move on, and whose season will come to a close? It’s all to play for in the NFL Divisional Round.
