Summer music season kicks off in Queens as the Governors Ball Music Festival returns June 5-7 for its highly anticipated 2026 edition at Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Known to many simply as Gov Ball, the festival has become one of New York’s signature cultural events, blending pop, hip-hop, rock, indie, K-pop and electronic music for tens of thousands of fans each year.
The lineup for this year has recently been announced, promising three days of unforgettable performances from global superstars and rising artists alike, offering something for every kind of music fan. Governors Ball has a long history of bringing big names and diverse sounds to its stages and the 2026 lineup is no exception.
“I can’t wait for Gov Ball,” sophomore Jordan Pourtavoosi said. “Ever since the lineup has been announced, I can’t stop thinking about the festival. It is also during the last few weeks of school, which makes it so much more exciting for me.”
The weekend opens with an eclectic mix of artists on Friday, June 5, anchored by New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde, whose emotional and genre-bending pop has earned widespread acclaim. She headlines the day and is joined by high-energy rapper Baby Keem, known for his creative flow and dynamic stage presence.

Friday’s lineup also includes a range of exciting performers across genres. Alt-rock fans can catch Pierce The Veil, while pop and R&B lovers may gravitate toward Mariah The Scientist. Indie rock favorites The Beths and Turnover bring melodic hooks and guitar-driven sets to the stage, and emerging acts like KATSEYE, The Dare and King Princess are sure to keep the crowd moving. The day also celebrates young talent with performances by School of Rock Queens and Kids Rock for Kids.
Saturday, June 6, shifts into high gear with Stray Kids, the K-pop sensations whose elaborate choreography and chart-topping hits have made them a global phenomenon. Their appearance marks one of the festival’s most anticipated sets of the weekend.

Joining Stray Kids are Grammy-recognized artist Kali Uchis and electronic music mainstays Major Lazer, bringing a blend of Latin-influenced R&B and dance-floor energy. Indie and alternative fans will find plenty to enjoy with Wet Leg, Amyl and the Sniffers, Spacey Jane and Blood Orange. Saturday also showcases innovative acts like Ravyn Lenae, Jane Remover, Snow Strippers, Midnight Generation and Wisp, giving festivalgoers the chance to discover breakout artists before they hit the mainstream.
Gov Ball’s final day on Sunday, June 7, brings one of the weekend’s most talked-about headliners: A$AP Rocky, the Harlem-born rapper whose high-octane performances and influential style have earned him global recognition. Rounding out the Sunday headline role is JENNIE, member of K-pop powerhouse BLACKPINK and a solo star in her own right.
“I’m most excited for the Sunday lineup,” sophomore Jonathan Kitograd said. “I’ve never got the chance to see A$AP Rocky live and it will be the best day of my life.”

Sunday’s lineup leans into indie and alternative favorites, with Japanese Breakfast, Hot Mulligan and Holly Humberstone delivering distinct sounds that have earned them loyal followings. Hip-hop fans can catch sets from Clipse and Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist, while pop and experimental acts like Slayyyter, Rachel Chinouriri, Hemlocke Springs and Between Friends add layers of variety. Emerging artists like Lexa Gates, Khamari and Hannah Jadagu bring fresh energy to the festival’s closing day. Community-oriented performances from School of Rock New York help wind down the weekend with local flair.
“I’m going to Gov Ball to see my favorite popular artists but I can’t wait to see artists I don’t know perform too,” senior Nathan Davidson said.
Beyond music, Governors Ball is known for its vibrant atmosphere, art installations and food offerings, including selections from popular NYC restaurants and Queens Night Market vendors. Whether you’re there for the headliners or excited to discover new artists, Gov Ball 2026 promises three days of nonstop music, culture and summer fun in the heart of New York City.
