Hello Will, thank you so much for joining us today for this interview.
TBR Will: Of course
Starting off, what inspired you to get into rap?
TBR Will: “I started rapping from a very young age, around 4th grade or so. I fell in love with the hip-hop genre in general and decided to try to create music that matched that style.
Is your family supportive of your early rap career?
TBR Will: “Yes, of course. My mom is one of my biggest fans and supports my work. Even though she might not be as big a rap fan as I am, her opinion matters dearly to me.
You go to BOCES (Boards of Cooperative Educational Services), correct? How do they help you with your music journey?
TBR Will: “Yes, I do attend BOCES. I go mainly for audio production. Just today, I made a beat by sampling one of my favorite artists. The main software that I use for my production is Bandlab. I highly recommend it as a software for any artist who wants to get into making beats.”
What is one of your goals as an underground artist?
TBR Will: “One of the main goals that I aim to achieve in my career in music is to achieve a reliable fanbase. Right now, most of my listeners are just some of my friends at school, but my hope is to grow my following, getting more people to listen to my music.”
Speaking of your friends, how do they influence you and your rap?
TBR Will: “They serve as the first opinion of my music. My closest friends are the ones who listen to my music and offer feedback and suggestions. They not only support me through listening, but their reactions to my raps serve as knowledge I use to make my next track even better.”
Which of your songs is your favorite, and which one do your fans like most?
TBR Will: “Some of my favorite songs that I’ve crafted are still unreleased. Out of my released songs, however, “Alex and Steve” is my favorite. It was the first song I dropped under the name TBR Will, and it holds a special place in my heart.
Who is your dream collaboration to have on a song?
TBR Will: “Drake is definitely up there. He serves not only as a musical inspiration but as someone whose journey in the hip-hop industry has greatly inspired me. I hope to one day reach his level of stardom.”

What’s something you’re trying to achieve with your music? Are you trying to send a message of some kind?
TBR Will: “I am, to an extent, trying to convey a message through my music. I really just want to bring joy to my listeners. My raps are something that I’m deeply passionate about. They serve as an outlet for my creativity whilst also making me genuinely happy. If I can somehow pass that emotion on to whoever listens to my songs, that makes me feel incredible.
And lastly, what does the TBR really stand for?
I can’t reveal that. The moniker TBR is something I created for myself. In time, maybe I’ll reveal what the acronym really stands for. Until then, staying secretive provides me with more creative freedom and serves to allure people to listen to my songs.
Will, thank you so much for sitting down with us today, and good luck with your future endeavors.
TBR Will: Thank you, always a pleasure.
TBR Will is dropping new music soon; his music is streaming on all major music platforms. Go check him out and support our Blazers community!
