The Eras Tour: In Theaters Now

For almost eight months and counting, Taylor Swift performed the iconic Eras Tour across the world, and now, it’s in theaters.

Most popular singer in the world? Generated the most amount of money a world tour ever has? Has a fan-base that people refer to as a cult due to their persistent loyalty to her? Put Travis Kelce on the map? Have you heard of her? American singer and sensation Taylor Swift has made her rounds around the world, performing her Eras Tour. This tour has generated up to $1 billion, and is said to have boosted the United States’ economy. But, if you thought Swift was done at her tour, you are wrong.

Swift announced her movie, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, in August, and shortly after, aired it to the public on October 13th. The do-it-all and face of modern women managed to gross over $200 million worldwide in the first two weeks since the movie came out.

“I’ve always known about Taylor Swift…but recently, she has been on a roll. On my TikTok ‘For You Page’, all of the TikTok videos are about her and her tour,” said junior Sara Vilinksy. “She is a role model for millions of people around the world, and will be remembered in history for sure.”

To some, it may seem bizarre that Swift is able to single-handedly go on a tour, and make a movie for it as well, in such a short time span, especially with the ongoing writers’ strike. However, Swift did everything in her power to make the movie happen, while keeping ethics and morals in mind. Not only the release, but also the production of the concert film involves an interim agreement with the actor’s union. Swift is also a part of this agreement, as she agreed to the union’s requests, which included an increased pay. This decision on Swift’s part comes as no surprise, as Swift is known for treating her employees with utmost respect and kindness. This was evident in the $100,000 bonuses she gave her truck drivers for their work during the North America shows of her tour.

“The generosity of Swift goes far beyond the surface. Critics may argue that she is acting generous due to her uproar of fame, and that she has to be nice, or she will be canceled,” said junior Daniella Ohebshalom. “She is such a sweet person, and it is evident that she isn’t doing this for attention whatsoever.”

With the free merchandise given to fans such as Eras Tour posters, branded popcorn buckets and drink cups, as well as Swift coming in person to surprise watchers and encouraging singing and dancing at the screenings. The Eras Tour was and will remain more than just a film. The movie is an experience that Taylor Swift lovers can bond over, and will always remember.
Junior Sammy Bokhour said, “Going to Eras Tour movies in person was honestly a great public relations move for Swift. She knew what she was doing, and I applaud her for it.”

The movie was a testament to the tireless work and effort that was put into the tour by Swift, her fans, and the people involved in her tour and movie’s production.
